Gamini Soori, MD, MBA, FACP, FRCP, CPE

Dr. Soori is a medical oncologist and hematologist with Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute in Lee County. He is board-certified in internal medicine, geriatric medicine, medical oncology, hematology, and medical management.

As a principal investigator, Dr. Soori is actively engaged with clinical trials at FCS and previously with Alegent Creighton (now CHI Health), the Mayo Clinic, and the National Cancer Institute. He has published more than 100 articles and abstracts in peer-reviewed journals and authored oncology text book chapters. He serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Oncology Practice.

Dr. Soori graduated with honors among the top ten in his class at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ceylon in Sri Lanka and completed residency training in the United Kingdom. He was awarded a medical oncology and hematology fellowship at the University of Wisconsin Comprehensive Cancer Center, and received additional training in hematology, oncology, and bone marrow transplantation at Royal Marsden Hospital and Institute of Cancer Research in London. Dr. Soori also holds a Physician Executive MBA from the University of Tennessee.

An accomplished humanitarian and leader, Dr. Soori has received multiple prestigious honors for distinguished service, leadership, and exceptional contributions to medicine from organizations including the AMA Foundation, Nebraska Medical Association, Creighton University School of Medicine, and the Sri Lanka Foundation of the United States

Dr. Soori joined FCS in 2018.
