Rami S. Owera, MD
Dr. Owera is a medical oncologist and hematologist with Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute in Pensacola.
After earning his medical degree from Aleppo University in Aleppo, Syria, Dr. Owera completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Missouri-Columbia. He then completed a fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at the Ellis Fischel Cancer Center at the University of Missouri-Columbia, where he also served as chief fellow. He is board-certified in internal medicine, hematology and medical oncology.
Dr. Owera provides comprehensive care for patients with cancer and blood disorders, with extensive experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Prior to joining Florida Cancer Specialists, he served as an attending physician and partner at Woodlands Medical Specialists in Pensacola, where he also held the role of Director of Research and Clinical Trials. In addition, he serves as an adjunct clinical assistant professor at the Florida State University College of Medicine.
Dr. Owera is actively involved in clinical research as a principal investigator and sub-investigator in collaboration with the Sarah Cannon Research Institute. His research has included numerous clinical trials across a wide range of malignancies, including breast, lung, gastrointestinal and hematologic cancers. He has contributed to academic publications and presentations and is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology.
